LEAVE & ABSENCE RULES

Rules Concerning Leave & Absence

No student who is late or absent will be admitted to class without permission from the Principal or Vice Principal.

  1. Leave of Absence:
    • Leave is granted only on prior written application from parent/guardian, except in unforeseen circumstances.
    • For 1-2 days leave, apply through the pages of the school diary.
    • For more than 2 days, a letter must be sent and a note made in the school diary. Medical certificate is required if absence exceeds 3 days due to illness.
    • Absence during tests/examinations will not be condoned (except in case of illness, provided the school is informed on the same day). No re-test or re-examination will be conducted; marks will be awarded as per rules.
  2. Students must attend school on the first day of the academic year, the first day after each vacation (Diwali, Dussehra, Winter, Summer), and the last day before vacations. Sickness must be informed to the school with a medical certificate.
    • Attendance on 15th August and 26th January is compulsory. No leave will be granted on these days.
  3. A student must complete at least 75% attendance to be eligible for the final examination.
  4. Returning to school after infectious or contagious diseases requires a fitness certificate. Quarantine periods for specific illnesses:
    • Chickenpox: Until complete falling of scabs
    • Cholera: Until fully recovered
    • Measles: Two weeks after rash disappears
    • Mumps: Until swelling subsides (about one month)
    • Whooping Cough: Six weeks
    • Jaundice: Six weeks
  5. Repeated absence without leave or absence for more than ten consecutive days may lead to removal from the school rolls. Re-admission, if allowed, will require payment of a re-admission fee.

Note: Students and parents are requested to adhere strictly to the rules to ensure smooth academic progress.
